If you saw an Expo Line train going to Santa Monica this morning, it wasn’t a case of the Monday’s tricking your head.
Today Metro began its pre-revenue train service on Expo Line Phase 2 in preparation for its May 20th grand opening. Trains will be going from Culver City to Santa Monica every 12-20 minutes to simulate full rail service.
The $1.5 billion extension includes seven new stations and will finally bring rail service to downtown Santa Monica. The project was funded by Measure R, the half-cent sales tax approved by voters in 2008.
