El Compadre is one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles for a special occasion.  I was pretty excited when my good friend, Maureen, asked me if she could take me there for a birthday dinner.

Of course, we had to kick off dinner with one of El Compadre’s flaming margaritas.  Beautiful and delicious!

Everything I’ve tried off the menu has been spot on.  This time around, I went with a cup of albondigas soup and the shrimp tacos.  It was actually my first time trying the Mexican meatball soup.  Absolutely delicious!  It was full of flavor and had a perfect combination of seasoning.  The shrimp tacos did not disappoint either.

I was then surprised by the fine folks at El Compadre.  The wait staff brought over this beautiful sundae and were joined by the mariachi band.  They performed a beautiful song of birthday wishes.  Quite a lovely surprise!
