Smartphones are the Swiss Army knives of green commuting. With a smartphone, a commuter can find out when the next bus comes using the Metro app. Google Maps will generate the best route for bikers, walkers or metro riders. Ride sharing apps like Lyft and Uber will bring a driver to your location to give […]
Thanksgiving is a holiday viewed in many different ways by Americans. A quick perusing through social media this morning shows this. A day off work. Extra time on the couch to watch football and the parade. Enjoying a decadent meal. Black Friday discounts. Dreaded time with family that doesn’t share the same political beliefs. For […]
Last Saturday, I attended La Cita’s Dia de los Muertos party, art show, and birthday celebration of my friend, Alicia. What a great time! Local artists were on hand painting faces, as well as showing off their creations. The crowd was great, and fun times had by all. Check out the good times we had.

Good news: the Los Angeles Kings have won the Stanley Cup! Not only is an LA team the best in all the land, but we can finally stop seeing our Facebook news feeds littered with hockey posts (oh wait, the NBA finals are still going on, along with the World Cup?). On Monday, LA welcomes […]
If you’re going to be milling around DTLA or Echo Park this Saturday, don’t be shocked if you see hundreds of naked cyclists rolling by. June 14th will be the annual World Naked Bike Ride Los Angeles. According to WNBR LA’s website, the ride is a protest against “indecent exposure to cars and the pollution […]
Over Memorial Day weekend, I went to Las Vegas with a group of friends. We did Vegas on a shoestring budget, especially when it came to our transportation options. I never heard of Bolt Bus until I was invited to join my friends for the weekend. It is a Greyhound service that connects nearby major […]
