Metro thanks the communities along the 8.5 mile LAX/Transit Project Alignment on Saturday, May 7th with their ‘Halfway There’ event.
The festival takes place at Leimert Park from 10-4pm, and will feature performances by local musicians, kids zone, food vendors, archeology discoveries, and more. A formal program will begin at 10:30, and will feature several communities leaders.
There is a lot to celebrate when it comes to rail in Los Angeles. In addition to the Chrenshaw/LAX Transit Project being halfway completed, the long awaited Gold Line extension brought another commuting option to communities deeper in the San Gabriel Valley. In less than a week, the long-awaited Expo Line extension will carry its first passengers from DTLA to Santa Monica.
