If you encountered a group ride at the beginning of the evening rush hour traffic where everyone was dressed in fancy duds, you were not going crazy.  What you saw is Mad Men writer Tom Smuts rolling into the Emmys on his bike with 14 of his friends. 

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Smuts teamed up with the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, the City of Los Angeles and the TV academy to plan the safest route from his Santa Monica Home to the ceremony at the Nokia Theater in Downtown.  Tom plans on organizing other rides to some of the upcoming start-studded Hollywood events.
