True Love

Yesterday I was on the purple line heading to work.  Sitting across from me was a lesbian couple and their young daughter, who was in a stroller.  By watching this couple interacting I could see they had a deep and beautiful love for one another, the sort of love that will withstand the test of time.

How  could I tell?  Not when they started arguing and one lady said to the other, “baby, let’s not do this.  It doesn’t matter.”  Not by the way they would lean in and tenderly kiss their daughter.

How?

What one lifted her arm and asked her partner if her pits smelled.  She sure did lean in and take a whiff!
